The summer rain always comes suddenly. Lin Wenjing stood at the library’s entrance. When he raised his eyes, he saw the darkened sky and the overwhelming rain, and knitted his brows.

The rainstorm seemed as if it was bringing some sort of wrath with it, pouring down heavily from the sky with a crackling sound. The low-lying areas were already accumulated with water, and even the floor in front of the library was soaked by the rain. Lin Wenjing took out his phone. The wind blew the cold and wet rain onto his face, and water droplets instantly appeared on his phone screen.

He took a few steps back, then called He Xingran.

At this moment, He Xingran was moving the advertising display in the faculty’s cultural plaza. Due to the sudden rainstorm, the giant poster on their department’s display was blown to the point only half of it remained, and the billboard’s frame also collapsed. The professors notified a dozen guys to come clean up. They worked together to remove and fold the remaining half of the poster, then dismantling the display frame into three large sections. A few of them were pushing the frames toward the nearby teaching building, trying to get it under the eaves where there was no rain.

There was no way for them to hold up umbrellas, so the ice-cold rain fell on their faces, and their sight became very blurry. Their soaked clothes clung to their bodies, and when the wind blew, the coldness spread through their limbs.

Fortunately, there were many people, all of which were young and strong, so they pushed the advertising display under the eaves not long after.

The girls, who were standing at the side and helping the guys hold their coats, heard the ringing of a phone and called out, “Ran-ge, it seems to be your phone!”

He Xingran wiped his wet face, then took a few tissues to wipe his hands. He took out his phone from his coat pocket, and seeing who the caller was, he answered it.

The bulging veins on the tall young man’s arms were particularly obvious under the rain. The soaked shirt clung to his body—his broad shoulders and narrow waist caused the girls to be stunned for a moment, then looked away in embarrassment.

“Wenjing?” He Xingran asked, “You’ve come out of the library?”

“Mhm. It’s raining…” Lin Wenjing’s voice came through the receiver of the phone amid the clamorous rain. “Where are you?”

“Wait for me for three minutes.” He Xingran looked at his own soaked clothes. “I’ll pick you up.”

He grabbed a few more tissues, wiping the water on his arms while putting his phone back in his coat pocket.

“I need to go, something came up,” he informed a classmate beside him. He opened his umbrella, grabbed his coat, and headed into the downpour.

“What’s going on with Ran-ge?” one person asked.

“He went to pick up God Lin!” A female classmate curled her lips. “God Lin didn’t bring an umbrella.”

He Xingran told him to wait three minutes, but Lin Wenjing was bored, so he stared at the time on the screen. Less than three minutes had passed when he looked up and saw He Xingran running toward him with an umbrella. He was stunned for a moment, then saw that He Xingran was completely soaked, so he frowned and walked over to him.

The moment he stepped into the rain, He Xingran held the umbrella steadily over his head.

“Why are you still wet even though you brought an umbrella?” Lin Wenjing reached out his hand to wipe his arms, feeling the coldness. “You didn’t even wear your coat.”

He Xingran explained, “Our faculty’s advertisement display board in the cultural plaza fell down. The counselor was afraid that it would hurt someone, so he had us pick it up and push it to a place where it could be sheltered from the rain.”

“Let’s head back so you can change your clothes.” Lin Wenjing took his arm. “Do you have cold medicine in your dorm?”

“Ah, don’t stand so close.” He Xingran held the umbrella, most of it was leaning toward him, so he couldn’t hold his hand. “Don’t get your clothes wet.”

Lin Wenjing stared at him, then he took his coat and put it on. He then took his hand with a hint of a smile in his eyes. “This way my clothes won’t get wet.”

    He Xingran chuckled. “Mm.”

“So, does your dorm have cold medicine?”

    “There is.”

Lin Wenjing said, “Then, take a shower when you go back. Afterward, drink two packets of the cold medicine powder, so you don’t catch a cold.”

He thought to himself that he wasn’t that weak, but he immediately answered, “Okay.”

This care, as well as the body heat coming from Lin Wenjing’s close contact, made him feel warm both physically and mentally, so of course he had to accept it all.

When they arrived at the room’s door, He Xingran took out the keys from his coat pocket, unlocked the door and pushed it open halfway. The moment he clearly saw the scene before him, he pulled the door back. He tilted his head to look at Lin Wenjing, a helpless look showing on his face.

    “What’s wrong?”

    “Um, Qin Guanzhi is here.”

His roommate who usually talks nonsense was obediently sitting at his desk, tilting his head and kissing someone. He Xingran was caught off guard seeing the young couple being intimate. He felt awkward and helpless.

Lin Wenjing understood. He blinked his eyes and whispered in curiosity, “What are they doing?”

Just when He Xingran was about to speak, the room’s door was opened. Qin Guanzhi, who opened the door, looked calm. On the other hand, Li Jiusi, who followed after him, had red ears and looked away as soon as he met his gaze.

    “Ran-ge, you guys have returned…”

“You guys are going out?” He Xingran raised a brow. “It’s raining so hard, though.”

“Yeah, we’re going out to eat.” Li Jiusi clenched Qin Guanzhi’s hand uneasily. “We’re leaving now.”

He Xingran had no intention of teasing his roommate. The wet clothes clinging to his body made him feel uncomfortable, so he nodded and took Lin Wenjing’s hand to walk inside.

“You sit for a while, I’ll go take a shower.” He Xingran opened the closet to take out some clothes, then directly entered the bathroom.

Lin Wenjing took out the cold medicine from the medicine box on the top shelf of the bookshelf, rinsed a cup, then opened the medicine packet and poured the powder into it. He sat at He Xingran’s desk and took out his phone to play on it.

Guys shower quickly. The hot water washed away the chill of the rain. After He Xingran changed into clean clothes, he came out of the bathroom while wiping his hair. The dorm’s light fell on Lin Wenjing, who was still wearing his black denim jacket. His head was lowered slightly, revealing the gleaming pale neck.

Lin Wenjing heard his movements and turned around. He then got up to get the cup and poured some hot water in it, then poured some cold water in it, and stirred the medicine powder with a muddler to form white foam. He finally handed the cup over to He Xingran.

Lin Wenjing treated him very well—being both attentive and considerate. But toward strangers, he was cold and distant. He Xingran sometimes thought that he would never meet another person who was as good as him in his lifetime.

Which is why He Xingran tried his best to also treat Lin Wenjing well. It wasn’t the youthful longing for everlasting love, rather, he truly hoped to spend a lifetime growing old with Lin Wenjing.

After he finished drinking the medicine, He Xingran hugged Lin Wenjing. He sat on the chair, while letting Lin Wenjing sit on his thighs.

Lin Wenjing didn’t react for a moment, subconsciously hugging his neck.

    Then, he was kissed.

A gentle kiss fell on his lips, accompanied by a low chuckle.

“Earlier, didn’t you ask me what they were doing?”

    They were kissing.

The wind and rain outside poured relentlessly, while inside, they hugged and kissed, their heartbeats drowning out the sound of the rain.

Fortunately, this kiss came with no interruptions.
