“If we had a child, would you stay?”

If they had a child, there would no longer be any pressure from their elders. Was it possible that the alpha wanted a child as well?

The omega suddenly looked up, wide-eyed, his mouth slightly agape—a rare moment of blank confusion. Quickly, he lowered his gaze again. Marrying the alpha had only been possible due to their highly compatible pheromones. In other words, it was easier for them to conceive exceptional offspring. He had known this from the start, hadn’t he?

The alpha walked over and gently embraced the omega. “I’m sorry,” he said. The person in his arms trembled slightly, appearing so small and fragile that it broke the alpha’s heart. Thankfully, it wasn’t too late. Those two years they had agreed on? They didn’t matter anymore. He was determined to truly get to know the omega and build their relationship.

The alpha had never intended to divorce the omega—not in the indifferent past, and not now, when he wanted to make up for everything. At first, he hadn’t understood why the thought of the omega consumed him, or why he felt restless whenever they were apart. But when he realized he might lose the omega, the pain became unbearable.

He was certain now—he had fallen for the omega, this shy, soft-spoken person who blushed so easily.

Did they have to do it right now? Misunderstanding the alpha’s intentions, the omega reached up and removed the scent-blocking patch from his gland. The faint scent of jasmine filled the air, immediately catching the alpha’s attention and quickening his breath. The omega’s pale arms wrapped around his neck, and the alpha, encouraged by the response, eagerly swept the omega off his feet.

    They were perfectly compatible.

No matter how much the omega was teased in bed, he wouldn’t cry. He would only avert his eyes, blushing deeply, and obediently comply no matter the position—so soft, so yielding. Occasionally, when he couldn’t bear it anymore, he would let out a small whimper, like a kitten’s mewl, driving the alpha wild. To hear more of those sounds, the alpha intentionally moved with intensity and precision, teasing deeply. The omega, like a treasure hidden behind his reserved exterior, revealed sweetness that was utterly intoxicating.

The alpha couldn’t resist pushing deeper, testing the omega’s sensitive inner walls. The omega, unable to escape, trembled uncontrollably. Frustrated by the prolonged teasing, the omega whimpered brokenly, “You…you need to go in…deeper…to make it easier…to have a baby.”

His words, honest and straightforward, were like a plea. The alpha, overwhelmed, finally lost control. With one swift motion, he completed the bond, his teeth marking the omega’s heated nape in an irreversible claim.

The omega’s body convulsed, tears streaming uncontrollably down his face. Instinctively, he clung to the alpha, unwilling to let go. It was a fleeting moment of false happiness, shadowed by fear and despair.

“Shh, let me clean you up, alright?” The alpha loosened his hold and reached for a damp towel, returning to cradle the omega gently. The omega, so small in his arms, seemed to trigger an addictive need to hold him close.

The alpha, who rarely showed emotion, now spoke in a tone so tender it caught the omega off guard. The omega shook his head slightly, his face flushed and his legs trembling as he blocked himself with his hand. “No, don’t clean it… If it stays, it’s easier to conceive.”

Flustered, the omega’s expression grew serious despite his embarrassment, making him irresistibly endearing.

The alpha, already smitten, felt his heart melt as he held the omega tighter. He pressed a kiss to the omega’s forehead, whispering, “Let’s leave it to fate. The more we try, the better our chances.”

But the omega knew he couldn’t afford to let himself fall further into this illusion of love.

Time passed, and the omega soon realized he was pregnant. Before he could fully believe in the alpha’s newfound affection, the baby became a reality.

The alpha, now even more attentive, transformed from a workaholic into a doting partner. After work, he rushed home to care for the omega, hoping to make the pregnancy as smooth as possible.

For the first few months, the omega worked remotely under the elders’ insistence. No longer needing to visit the lab, he often lingered in bed. Each morning before leaving, the alpha would hold him close and kiss him for what felt like an eternity. In the evenings, even when working in the study, the alpha insisted on keeping the omega in his arms.

One evening, as the omega dozed off in the alpha’s warm embrace, he heard a soft confession: “I love you.”

The words, spoken so lightly, struck like a thunderclap. The omega, now fully awake, touched his growing belly and struggled to reconcile the alpha’s sudden love with his own doubts.

Why had the alpha fallen for him?

The answer wasn’t hard to guess: it began with their pheromones and was cemented by the baby.

When the day of the birth arrived, the omega endured the ordeal with the alpha’s unwavering support. Everything went smoothly, and the omega was well cared for.

Afterward, as the omega rested, the alpha was briefly called away. When he returned, he found the omega tearful but resolute.

“Sir, I want a divorce,” the omega said, his voice steady despite his tears.

“No, no divorce,” the alpha stammered, clutching the omega’s hand. “We won’t divorce. I love you, I love you. Please, let’s not divorce.”

The omega remained silent, unmoved by the alpha’s pleas. Desperate, the alpha added, “Our baby is so small. Would you really leave me—and him?”

“Sir, I will fulfill my responsibility and take good care of him,” the omega replied, meeting the alpha’s gaze.

The omega handed the alpha a vial, his final gift: a newly developed medication that could block pheromone-induced attraction, allowing alphas and omegas to interact without interference.

“This is my parting gift to you,” he said quietly.
