When Light rushed over to Jorah’s room, the latter was sitting on the sofa and browsing on the terminal.

Jorah’s eyebrows were knitted tightly. Queen Katherine was sitting beside him wiping her tears with a tissue, looking quite upset.

    “Your Highness.”

The sound of the attendant’s respectful greeting was heard outside the door, and the two people turned around simultaneously.

Light coldly glanced at Katherine, then looked at Jorah. “Father.”

“You’ve come?” Jorah rubbed the space between his brows with his hand, then passed the terminal to Light. “What’s this?”

Light looked down at the content on the screen. In the center of the screen was a photo of Kyle’s horribly battered face captured by the media. Beside it was a sensational headline: “Suspected Conflict Between Brothers.” As for the reason behind Kyle giving the media an opportunity to broadcast him in such a short time, it was unknown.

He handed the terminal back. “He did something despicable, so he only has himself to blame. If you want to find out the reason behind all of this, then I can get…”

Katherine immediately interrupted him, wiping her tears while pulling at Jorah’s sleeve. “What despicable thing? Clearly, that merman who lost control while in heat… Your Majesty, Kyle is your own son. Nevermind that his two older brothers don’t care, are you also going to side with an outsider who is unrelated to the Oz Royal Family?”

Halfway through speaking, Katherine suddenly felt a cold gaze landing directly on her, so she turned to look—her eyes directly meeting Light’s enraged gaze.

    “He isn’t some “unrelated” outsider…”

Light looked at Jorah and said sternly, “Father, I want to marry Mu Chen.”

“What?” Jorah tossed the terminal aside on the sofa, and it seemed as if he couldn’t believe what he heard, “What did you say? Say it again.”

He’d never imagined he would be able to hear Light say the word “marry” while he was still alive. Moreover, it wasn’t even “I don’t want to marry” but “I want to marry.”

Jorah almost suspected that he had hearing problems.

Katherine froze for a moment, entirely taken aback by the situation heading in such a direction. She coughed, then tried to shift the subject, “Your Majesty, Kyle’s…”

Jorah waved his hands to signal the Queen to stop talking and let Light continue.

Light, “I plan on marrying him. I’m serious this time.”

Jorah rubbed his chin in doubt. “It won’t be like last time where you originally agreed, but then went back on your words at the last minute with a whole bunch of excuses, right?”

    Light resolutely said, “It won’t.”

Jorah pushed away Katherine’s hands, then stood up from his seat. “When do you plan on announcing the engagement?”

Before Light could change his mind, it was best to get this matter settled quickly.

Light thought for a moment. “After his mating period is over.”

Jorah, “Oh? When is it over? Tomorrow? Then I can have people prepare now.”

    Light, “…”

Why does it feel like he’s in a rush?

“It will probably last another week.”

Jorah, “Be that as it may, I’ll still have people begin preparing now.”

It was great that Light came around to the idea of marrying Mu Chen; it was one less worry for him. After all, there weren’t many people on Blue Planet that could control Light’s bad temper.

The Oz Empire supported same-sex marriage, and everyone was already accustomed to it. There had also been several royal husbands in history. People’s only concern about a “male queen” was the issue of heirs, but Jorah was not worried about this issue. After all, merfolks were different from humans. The male and female merfolks of Atlantis have reproductive functions—when Mu Chen was brought into the palace, the head of the Royal Biological Research Institute had said this.

Furthermore, Light and Mu Chen’s child would definitely be very cute, and there was a possibility of it being a merfolk baby.

When he thought of this, Jorah felt his chaotic mood had brightened.

Katherine, who had been ignored, hurriedly said, “Your Majesty!”

Jorah snapped out of his thoughts. “Oh, right, well, let’s discuss Kyle’s matter when I have time tomorrow. If it’s hard to explain clearly, call Mu Chen and the others over so we can get things straightened out…”

At this point, he patted the back of Katherine’s hand and sincerely said to her, “Oh, you…when you have time, you should educate your child more. He’s already old enough but is still causing trouble… Call Giselle over now. I want to discuss the wedding procession with him.”

    Katherine, “???”

    ……

The following daybreak, morning sun shone over the bed. Light’s eyelids trembled, and he slowly opened his eyes. Since he wasn’t tired, he slept very late last night.

He sat up from the bed. Compared to last night, when his muscles would twinge even with a slight pull, he still felt a bit sore, but the symptoms had significantly lessened.

He could only say that his daily training had come in handy.

Light’s gaze fell on the terminal, which had several messages from Mu Chen on the screen—

    [Has Gege woke up yet?]

    [I’m really hungry]

    [Haaa, I miss you]

Next to it was an emoji of a shark sleeping soundly with a blanket over it.

At first glance, it was just a few haphazard lines that had no beginning or end, and they weren’t even logically connected with each other. However, they made Light’s ears heat up. He subconsciously pursed the corner of his lips…

Does he still think he was a kid, still sending these types of childish emojis?

He had thought this, yet Light saved that shark emoji.

He replied to Mu Chen: [I’m up]

Light immediately got out of the bed, changed his clothes, and resumed his meticulous appearance. Just when he was about to go out, he saw Kuina standing at the door with a hesitant look.

    “Your Highness.”

    Light asked, “What is it?”

Kuina, “Well, Lord Vincent, the Duke of Anza City, has made a surprise visit. He said he wants to see His Highness Mu Chen to apologize in person or something along those lines.”

Light furrowed his brows. “Where is he now?”

He seriously didn’t understand why this person still dared to come.

Kuina, “He’s about to reach His Highness Mu Chen’s room door.”

    Light slightly nodded. “Got it.”

After saying that, he picked up his pace and went to Mu Chen’s bedroom.

As he arrived outside Mu Chen’s room, Light didn’t bump into Vincent at all. He silently said in his heart that Vincent got lucky. Then, he reached out to knock on Mu Chen’s bedroom door.

The door was left ajar, opening with just a push.

When Light entered, Mu Chen was hugging a big pillow and lying on the couch. He was wearing a loose long-sleeved sweatshirt, which looked completely untidy. A large part of his shirt had rolled up, revealing his dazzling white abdominal muscles. For some reason, the merman’s fair cheeks were tinged with a slight red, seeming like he wasn’t fully awake yet.

Looking at the person in front of him, Light unconsciously furrowed his brows.

What if the person who came in wasn’t him?

Won’t all of this be seen by an outsider?

And what if it were that Vincent?

The more Light thought about it, the more upset he became.

    Gege.”

After noticing who had come in, Mu Chen sat up from the couch immediately, his eyes brightening. He was like a big dog that needed a hug.

Just when Light was getting closer, he suddenly seemed to have thought of something, and the corners of his mouth drooped and he shrank back.

Gege, it’s best if you don’t come over…”

Light’s expression froze for a moment. “Why?”

Mu Chen, “I think I’m feeling unwell again. Didn’t Gege say he still isn’t used to it? If you’re too close to me, I’m scared I won’t control myself…”

Yesterday, Light obviously couldn’t immediately accept that incident. He seemed extremely awkward; not only did he refuse to shower with him, he also didn’t want to sleep with him.

Hearing what the other party said, Light stopped in his tracks.

In the next second—beep, beep, beep.

The terminal Mu Chen had thrown to the corner of the sofa rang. Light glanced over at it. Seeing the sender of the message, his brows knitted tightly.

Vincent: [I want to apologize for the incident from last time. I had been too rash.]

Vincent: [So I came to apologize to in person.]

Vincent: [Can you come out to see me?]

Mu Chen didn’t reply, but felt that Light’s expression seemed off. “What’s wrong?”

“I…am still a bit uncomfortable with it.” Light used his hand to cover his mouth while he coughed, then rigidly said, “But hugging is fine.”

When he spoke, the corners of Mu Chen’s lips rose. He blinked at Light, the upturned corners of his eyes seemed to be sending some kind of invitation.

As soon as the other person sat beside him, Mu Chen immediately leaned over and put his arms around Light’s waist. He gently pushed the man against the sofa cushion and rested his chin on Light’s neck. The latter was enveloped by the warm breath in front of him and suddenly felt a bit at a loss. He didn’t know where to put his hands; they stayed in the air for a moment before finally resting on Mu Chen’s back.

Mu Chen placed his hands on the side of his waist, gently stroking it with the right amount of force.

“Do you still feel uncomfortable? Gege, was it hard for you yesterday?”

Light’s back turned stiff. He tightened his lips, looked away, and lied, “…No.”

A light chuckle could be heard. “Oh.”

Immediately afterward, there was a warm touch on the corner of Light’s lips. His pupils suddenly narrowed.

The merman’s silver hair fell across his shoulders, the corners of his lips curled up. His beautiful face made him become a little dazed, and he asked, “Can I kiss you?”

Light felt his face burn up. He slightly opened his thin lips and was about to speak…

There was a sudden rustling noise outside the door. He stopped what he was about to do at once, then turned his head to look.

Through the crack of the door, Light vaguely caught a glimpse of the face that truly deserved a beating.

There was a band-aid on Vincent’s face—it was obvious that the wounds from the last beating had not fully healed. He was holding a bouquet of flowers, standing there in bewilderment.

    “What’s wrong?”

Noticing that Light was distracted, Mu Chen asked.

After speaking, he turned his head and wanted to look behind him.

    “Oh!”

His neck was suddenly held by someone, followed by a warm sensation on his lips.

Light’s brows furrowed. He reached out his hand and grabbed Mu Chen’s neck, kissing the other party’s lips.

Mu Chen froze for a moment, and when he snapped out of it, he quickly bent down to return the man’s kiss like a slippery loach.

Behind the door gap, Vincent, who witnessed this scene, stood rigidly in place. His pupils trembled noticeably.

“Lord Duke…” Just then, Kuina arrived. After seeing what was happening inside, she had an “Oh my” expression on her face, almost blushing with embarrassment. She hurriedly reached out her hand to close the door for the two of them.

“Duke, you’ve come at just the right time.”

Vincent looked distracted, staring at the closed door in a daze. “What do you mean?”

Kuina, “His Highness is about to announce his engagement to Mu Chen. You should wait; won’t it be a good opportunity to stay and celebrate together?”

“Ahem…cough…” Vincent covered his mouth and coughed. Embarrassment was written all over his face—he almost wanted to dig a hole to crawl in. “It’s better…if I don’t disturb you guys. I’ll be going now.”

Kuina, “Then perhaps I’ll have someone send you off?”

Vincent shook his head at once. “No need.”

After speaking, he rushed off with the bouquet of flowers.

At this moment, there was a faint scent of sea breeze in the room, which was warm and somewhat alluring.

Once the kiss was over, the back of Mu Chen’s clothes had been wrinkled. The handsome and stern face of the man in front of him had reddened, his breathing unsteady.

Light’s long lashes slightly trembled, and he turned his head to hide his discomposure.

Mu Chen curved his eyes, his crabapple colored lips gleaming. The harmless and innocent-looking face he possessed made it hard to imagine just how unreasonable he was when he kissed Light just now.

His hand moved from the other’s back to the front, beginning to wander further. “Can we?”

Seeing that Light didn’t explicitly reject the idea, Mu Chen slowly hooked his finger on the man’s crisp black necktie, and then put his finger inside, pulling it. The originally neatly tied necktie was unfastened slightly, and he whispered, “I’ll make Gege feel good.”

The base of Light’s ears were hot, yet his face remained stern and expressionless. He looked very calm save for the evident blush on his cheeks.

Mu Chen’s hand traveled downward from the edge of the man’s well-tailored black suit on his chest. His warm palm touched Light’s ironed and neat shirt.

Light’s long lashes couldn’t help but slightly tremble. He held Mu Chen’s wrist while he was “making trouble all over.”

Facing the man’s slightly reproachful look, Mu Chen blinked innocently and the corner of his lips curled up. “All of Gege’s clothes are expensive; we can’t dirty them like last time.”

As he spoke, his hand never stopped moving.

The merman was like a mischievous, unruly child. Relying on the other’s indulgence, he always tried to test the edge of his bottom line bit by bit.

Seeing that Light didn’t retort, Mu Chen smirked.

He knew the man liked it, so if he didn’t reject it, it meant he was tacitly consenting to it—indulgence amounted to tacit consent.

Mu Chen lowered his head and kissed him again; both gently and carefully. Light felt as if he was soaking in warm spring water, and his heart was about to burst.

The merman in front of him smelled of the ocean, reminding one of the sea inadvertently.

By the time the latter snapped out of his daze, his suit pants had already been tossed to the floor.

Mu Chen admired his masterpiece in satisfaction.

Last time, he had been too rushed, so he didn’t look carefully and missed out on a lot.

The man was wearing stockings that reached his thighs. They were pure black and thin. They were a very conservative and retro style, which was in line with Light’s serious personality. However, when worn on a man’s long and powerful thighs, they looked a bit sexy for some inexplicable reason.

The next thing that came into view was a touch of solemn black, which formed a stark contrast against his pale skin. The tightly fitted shirt and black straps had left behind a faint mark along the man’s thighs.

Mu Chen recalled the sober and unsmiling expression on Light when he first met him. He’d also caught a glimpse of Light’s awkward and helpless appearance. Mu Chen licked his lips, the smile in his eyes becoming even more intense.

    In the next second—

The two people’s positions were reversed. Mu Chen held Light on top of him.

As a 186 cm tall young man who wasn’t all that skinny, Light never thought that there would be a day that he would be held like a baby.

However, Mu Chen did this particularly with ease.

He really liked the man’s slim waist and curvy figure, which seemed like a combination of strength and beauty.

Mu Chen tilted his head to look at Light. “Is Gege sure that he wants to marry me?”

Light seemed as if he wasn’t expecting the other party to suddenly ask him this, so he was stunned for a moment, then promptly nodded. “Yes.”

“After your mating period is over, I will officially announce this matter to the public.”

In a sense, Light indeed was a bit like a stubborn and conservative patriarch, especially when it came to emotional matters. He always believed that no intimate contact could be made with the other party before the relationship was confirmed.

In his opinion, making a move on someone before making a commitment was a very impetuous thing to do—it was absolutely not something a gentleman should do.

Right now, their relationship was developing a lot faster than he had expected.

Mu Chen raised a brow. “Has Gege really thought it through? I can’t bear a child. Also, Gege is the crown prince, so you’ll need to continue the lineage in the future. Is it really okay for us to get married?”

When he heard the words “bear a child,” Light’s ears became hot. He furrowed his brow and said, “This isn’t a problem.”

He could have Lance or his child accede to the throne. This was in line with the inheritance system, and it wasn’t unprecedent in the Oz Empire. As for those ministers and nobles, if they knew that he and Mu Chen could not have children, they would indeed be dissatisfied with his engagement with Mu Chen. However, these issues were not worthy of his consideration.

“Oh.” Mu Chen pursed his lips after hearing his words. He placed a hand over the distinctly muscular abdomen. “How does Gege feel about giving birth to a baby himself?”

The other party’s warm breath fell across Light’s lips, and he only felt heat rush to his cheeks. He tightly pursed his thin lips. “What nonsense are you saying…”

He’s a man, how can he bear a child?

Then, he heard a light chuckle.

Light slightly lowered his head, facing Mu Chen’s twinkling eyes—where was there even a hint of seriousness in those slightly upturned lips?

It was only then that he realized that Mu Chen hadn’t actually been worried about the issue of an heir; he clearly just wanted to tease him.

Light raised an eyebrow. As if to punish him, he bowed his head and captured Mu Chen’s lips in a kiss, not giving him any chance to speak further nonsense.
