Guide to Novels and Chapters Dashboard

Quick Disclaimer:

Posting your novels and chapters will be completely up to you. The purpose of this website is to host novels, so you will be given capabilities to post your work. Below is a must-read guide for new users.

How to Post a Novel and Navigate Novel Page?

Important things you need to know about the functions as well as what you need to fill up when you post a novel are the:

1. Add Title *

2. Story Status and Age Rating *

• – (REQUIRED) Fill up the novel raw link metabox at the very bottom of Story Meta.
• 
• Don’t forget to update your status once the novel is done.

3. Story Description *

Fill up the summary of your novel.

4. Story Data 

• – Fill up the excerpt with the short description of your novel. This will help minimize the text in the story cards when shown in Story page. (REQUIRED)
• – Once you published your novel chapters, you can check this chapter metabox below your story data. Note that you can hover and arrange your chapters into ascending or descending order. Depends on your preference. But it is recommended to keep your chapters to descending as a default. Readers will have the option to change it to ascending or descending anyways. You can use this if your chapter list gets messed up all of a sudden. But for the most part, it’s best to leave this be.

 

 

• (Optional) Do you want to leave an announcement about anything but find it a hassle to input it every chapter? Don’t worry. You can use Global notes under Story Data to leave your messages. This makes info dissemination easier not only for you but for your readers as well. This will show up in every chapter your novel has, and you have the option to customize it. Extra descriptions are also written under the boxes. Password notes are used when you have a password-protected content.

5. Tags and Content Warnings *

• – You can choose as many tags that applies to your novel. However, it is recommended that you keep it to at least 5-10 tags to avoid clutter. But it’s honestly up to you.
• – Once the novel is complete, mark the Completed category and change the story status at the Story Meta. This is important so it would display on the website page. Content warnings will display with the tags. Once your novel is completed, ping a moderator on discord to get the announcement set up.

6. Story Cover *

• – One of the most important things you need to fill-up as well. The cover should be at least high quality to avoid pixelated covers.

How to Post a Chapter and Navigate Chapter Page?

Important things you need to know about the functions as well as what you need to fill up when you post a chapter are the:

1. Chapter Title.

• – Beginning chapter titles should be consistent.

2. Chapter Data

• – Assign the chapter to the story it belongs to.

– As for Card/List title, there is no need to fill this up. But it is recommended when you have long chapter titles and it gets cut off on small screens.

 

• Example: your title is “MRG Chapter 1: ——“, you can just input MRG 1 in the card list. You can use the Group when you have arcs or when you have password-protected content you want to lock (eg. advanced chapters). Note that it is case-sensitive so you have to mind your spelling.

 

• -As for Group, a sample for the that is shown below. You have to input the Group every chapter or chapters without group will be under unassigned. Unassigned chapters will be grouped under the Unassigned dropdown so best to be diligent filling this up when you plan to group your chapters like Arcs, Series, Episodes, etc. However you want it.

 

• – When you want to place a reminder for your readers and your work or your author has a note, you can either input it above the chapter (Foreword) or below the chapter (Afterword). Unlike the global notes, this will only show in one specific chapter., but you at least have the formatting option. As for Password note, this will only show in password-protected contents. Examples will be shown below:

3. Chapter Meta

• – The chapter Icon can be changed depending on your preference. It will show beside chapters.

• – Age Rating is optional. There is no need to set it, unless the content is sensitive for teens and younger. It honesty depends on you.

• – Warning and Warning Notes are positioned in chapter lists and above the chapter. Use this when you have sensitive content you want to mark. Examples will be shown. (CHECK UPDATES BELOW!)

– To mark sensitive content, Switch to the code editor in the classic editor (the text editor beside visual) and wrap the desired part like <span class="sensitive-content">the paragraph you wanna hide</span>. Make sure to properly close the tag and do not span over multiple blocks unless you know what you are doing, in which case you would not need this guide. If you have an alternative content, you use <span class="sensitive-alternative">the alternative paragraph</span>.

• For spoiler content, use <span class="spoiler">the spoiler paragraph</span>
• 

4. Password-protected contents/Advance chapters (optional)

• – If you want to schedule your password-protected chapters to be opened as a free chapter, simply input the date of release in Expire Post Password under Extra Meta. This is useful when you want to implement Advanced Chapters as well as free chapters to your readers.

– How you will disseminate your chapter password is completely up to you.

Footnotes are now available! Here’s a quick guide on how to use it:

• – Use the shortcode for your footnotes.

02/03/2025 Update: Novel Raw Links, Raw Title, Author, Translators, Editors and update schedule metabox is now available under the Story Meta! It’s also required to fill this up.

02/05/2025 Shortcode update: Dropdowns are now available!!! Now, it’s easier for you to hide content that would have R18+ themes instead of using the mark sensitive content code.
